On April 10th, 2018 we set up in this beautiful home and over the course of an eleven hour stretch, interviewed 43 people. We talked with current homeschool students and homeschool alumni. We interviewed parents who have been homeschooling for only two weeks, those who have been for 25 years, and everywhere between. We talked to those who in past have opposed homeschool and now love it.
It was amazing hearing so many different reasons and methods by which parents homeschool. Everyone seems to have their own approach, but some universal themes definitely shown through:
- Homeschooling is driven by passion. Some people have a passion for it and that leads them to do it, others start and find that passion quickly.
- Homeschool families seem to be very close and enjoy being together.
- Homeschool brings joy to all those involved.
